Blogscape: Cartography on Social Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we describe a visualization system for enabling location-based navigation of a social blog network. Our visualization has three parts: a map, tabular, and matrix display, to facilitate several selected user tasks. We use coordinated visualizations with an interface based on the principles of overview, zoom and filter, and detailson-demand to enable users to explore the information in a flexible way. In addition, we suggest future directions for extending our prototype visualization into more general functionality. Author

On the Origins of Analytical Cartography
This paper examines the development of analytical cartography and the contributions Waldo Tobler has made to it, starting well before his definition of the subject in 1976. Analytical cartography's roots in '''Torld War 11and the Cold War are examined, and the influences and precedents for the academic course that Tobler described are discussed. The systems of knowledge production developed for...
متن کاملNetworks, Territories, and the Cartography of Ancient States
With broad lines and dark shading, the cartographic depictions of ancient states and empires convey the impression of comprehensive political entities having firm boundaries and uniform territorial control. These depictions oversimplify the complexities of early state growth, as well as overstating the capacity of central governments to control large territories. Archaeological and textual evid...
متن کاملe-Diasporas Atlas Exploration and Cartography of Diasporas in Digital Networks
Historically, the emergence of e-diasporas occurred in tandem with the diffusion of the Internet and the development of multiple online public services. At the end of the 1990s, a number of institutions joined forces with the new “e”-technologies (eadministration, e-democracy, e-education, e-healthcare, e-culture, e-tourism), which gave rise to the first presence on the Web of associations run ...
متن کاملDistance entropy cartography characterises centrality in complex networks
We introduce distance entropy as a measure of homogeneity in the distribution of path lengths between a given node and its neighbours in a complex network. Distance entropy defines a new centrality measure whose properties are investigated for a variety of synthetic network models. By coupling distance entropy information with closeness centrality, we introduce a network cartography which allow...
متن کاملAnalyzing Tools and Algorithms for Privacy Protection and Data Security in Social Networks
The purpose of this research, is to study factors influencing privacy concerns about data security and protection on social network sites and its’ influence on self-disclosure. 100 articles about privacy protection, data security, information disclosure and Information leakage on social networks were studied.
